Opening in Fall 2020, the Carteret Performing Arts and Events Center will transform the region.
Part of Carteret’s developing Arts District, the 55,000-sq. ft. CPAC will stand on the site of the classic Ritz Theater, alongside luxury apartments, new restaurants, and a nearby marina with future ferry service to Manhattan. It will house a 1,600-seat large, flexible meeting and performance space, 500-seat black box theater, 5,000-sq. ft. art gallery, and a rooftop space accommodating up to 200 people.
Developed with funding from the Middlesex County Cultural Arts Trust Fund, a New Jersey state grant, and the nonprofit Carteret Business Partnership, the Carteret Performing Arts and Events Center plans to host live performances—comedy, theater, music, and more—plus trade shows, meetings, and social events. Carteret’s Mayor Dan Reiman said it best: “We invite our neighbors around the state to discover what many already know—that Carteret is becoming a regional destination for families, entertainment, and recreation.”
