As a major resource for small and medium-sized arts organizations, the New Brunswick Cultural Center exists to bring support to emerging artists and community groups throughout Middlesex County. Using a comprehensive database of local musicians, dramatists, and performers, the center connects artists and brings together working professionals for cooperative cross-disciplinary performances presented all over the community.

Along with Elijah’s Promise and with help from Middlesex County, the NBCC is the major nonprofit responsible for funding the Hub City Sounds Concert & Performance Series, a free summer music and theater event for families and residents, including the annual Caribbean Festival, the Indo-American Festival, and the Raritan River Festival and Rubber Duck Race.

To help the younger residents of the County, the NBCC founded the Start Program, a youth advocacy program that exposes kids to museums and unique shows, as well as a range of workshops at the George Street Playhouse, Mason Gross School of the Arts, and the Zimmerli Art Museum.
